Standards: editorial policy

EQSIS Pulse is EQSIS's market news and explanation service. It is published by EQSIS Capital Market Research Firm (EQSIS), the trade name of Valarmurugan S, SEBI Registered Research Analyst, Registration No. INH200003000, BSE Enlistment No. 5183. It explains Indian markets, companies and the economy in plain words, for information and education.

What we publish. Most of EQSIS Pulse is information: what happened in the market, what companies filed, what official data shows, and what market words and numbers mean. This is not a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security. It is general, and it does not consider your goals, your money or your needs. We never tell readers to buy or sell, and we never publish price targets, stop-losses or entry and exit levels.

Briefs and explainers only, for now. Apart from its daily editions and the short factual items described below, EQSIS Pulse publishes only briefs and explainers: a brief says what happened and why it matters, and an explainer sets out what a market word, number or idea means. Any analysis of how an event affects a named listed company is sent back until our compliance adviser has advised whether such analysis is research under SEBI's rules.

Views. A view on a share, a sector or an index as an investment (on its price, value or prospects) appears only in a box marked EQSIS View, or on a page that says it carries EQSIS research. Under SEBI's rules for research analysts, such a view is research. It is published only after an EQSIS analyst cleared for research review approves it. It carries full research disclosures, and it is kept as a research record for at least five years. EQSIS Pulse does not publish EQSIS Views at present.

Facts and sources. Every fact in a story comes from a source we name at the end of the story, with the time we took it: stock exchanges, regulators, company filings, official statistics, market data and other publishers. Our software places every number in the text from that data. A story with a number that cannot be traced to its source does not publish. We do not publish rumours or unverified market information. Short factual items that publish without an analyst are of five kinds only: exchange filings, regulator releases, results from our own market scanners, index data, and our own data stories. They never come from other publishers. Our data stories use no source from other publishers. Their only sources are stock exchanges, depositories, clearing corporations, benchmark-rate bodies, regulators, central banks, government departments, official statistics, company filings, the mutual fund industry body and EQSIS's own data, including the market prices it collects. Our software checks every data story against this rule, and one that still cites any other source does not publish. Valarmurugan S, as the SEBI Registered Research Analyst, has given his standing approval for these five kinds of item to publish after our automated checks.

How a story is made. AI systems plan, research, write and check our stories. EQSIS analysts read and approve briefs, explainers and the daily editions before they publish. Short factual items with no view may publish after automated checks, and analysts review a sample of them afterwards. A story shows "Reviewed by an EQSIS analyst" only when an analyst approved that exact version. Our AI use page explains this in full.

Independence. EQSIS also offers training courses and paid research services. A page on EQSIS Pulse may end with a link to one EQSIS course, which is our own product. Course links never appear inside a story. No course link appears on a page that carries EQSIS research. Our stories do not promote EQSIS's paid research service. We do not publish paid or sponsored stories, and we do not report other firms' price targets or their ratings of shares, such as buy, hold or sell.

Conflicts. Our analysts record their holdings and other interests with us. An analyst cannot approve an EQSIS View on a company, sector or index in which they have declared an interest. EQSIS's other business is set out on the Disclosures page under EQSIS Pulse standards.

Tone. We write plainly and calmly. We do not hurry readers, promise returns or use words meant to excite. Figures carry their date and time.

Mistakes. When we get something wrong, we correct it on the page and list it on our Corrections page.

Contact. To tell us about an error, write to info@eqsis.com. To make a complaint, use the Grievance Redressal / Escalation Matrix linked at the foot of this page.
