It is important that you review the privacy and policies of all websites you visit before you disclose any information to such websites.
Advertising measurement and learner exclusion
Our website uses Google Tag Manager to load Google Analytics and Google Ads, the Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram advertising) and the OpenAI Ads pixel (ChatGPT advertising). These tools set cookies or similar identifiers and record page views and actions such as sending an enquiry. Google, Meta and OpenAI use this to measure our advertisements and to show our advertisements to people who have visited our website. If you choose “Decline” on our cookie notice, these tools do not load on the pages you open after that, and your browser remembers the choice.
When you send us an enquiry and have not declined, we tell OpenAI that an enquiry was made, with your email address and mobile number converted into a one-way code (an SHA-256 hash). This lets us measure which of our ChatGPT advertisements bring enquiries. When you enrol in a course, we tell OpenAI about the enrolment and the course fee, with the same one-way codes. When you open your personal welcome page, we tell Meta and OpenAI that a learner visited, with one-way codes of your email address, mobile number and name.
We also keep one-way codes of our learners’ email addresses and mobile numbers in exclusion lists with Google, Meta and OpenAI, so that they stop showing our course advertisements to people who have already joined. The same applies to enquirers our team has marked as enrolled.
We never send your address, your payment details or anything you type on the welcome page. We do not sell your data. Google, Meta and OpenAI compare the codes with their own account records under their own privacy policies.
You can ask us to stop at any time. Tick “Do not share my details with advertising platforms” on your personal welcome page, or write to info@eqsis.com. We will then stop sending your details and promptly remove you from the exclusion lists. Information the platforms have already received is kept under their own policies.
EQSIS Pulse (www.eqsis.com/pulse/)
A. What this section covers
EQSIS Pulse is the market news and explanation section of this website, at www.eqsis.com/pulse/. This section explains what EQSIS Pulse records about its readers, why, how long it keeps it, and the choices you have. The rest of this Privacy Policy also applies to EQSIS Pulse pages.
B. What EQSIS Pulse records
When you read EQSIS Pulse, it keeps a record of your reading in this browser (your reading record). It holds:
- the EQSIS Pulse pages you open, and when;
- the stories shown to you in lists, and the ones you open;
- how long you spend on a page, and whether you scroll through most of it;
- what you follow, save, share (and how, for example by WhatsApp or by copying the link) and react to (for example “Useful” or “Want deeper”), and your vote in a poll when EQSIS Pulse runs one;
- that you used EQSIS Pulse search, and how many results you got, but not the words you searched for;
- when you open an EQSIS course page or a learning page from EQSIS Pulse;
- the website that sent you to EQSIS Pulse (its name only, such as google.com, not the page), and the campaign name in the link you followed, if it had one;
- your type of device (mobile, tablet or computer) and your browser’s language setting.
Your reading record is linked to a random ID that EQSIS Pulse keeps in a cookie in your browser. It is not linked to your name, email address or phone number. If you are signed in to your EQSIS account, it is also linked to that account (part F).
C. Why EQSIS Pulse records it
EQSIS Pulse uses your reading record:
- to choose stories for you: the stories under “Up next” at the end of a story, the order of some lists on the front page, and, once it is switched on, the For You page. It uses what you follow, what you have read, what other readers read, and, while it knows little about you, the story you first came to;
- to work out what you read most: topics (companies, sectors, themes, events and other named topics), EQSIS Pulse’s sections, and whether your reading is closer to a trader’s, an investor’s or a learner’s. These interests fade with time unless you keep reading about them: an interest in a topic loses half its weight every 14 days; an interest in a section, and the trader, investor or learner leaning, every 60 days;
- to suggest a next step on EQSIS Pulse pages, such as following a topic you often read about;
- to place readers in groups by their interests, and in stages by how often they visit and whether they are signed in (for example new, regular, signed in or lapsing), so that we can choose these suggestions and see how EQSIS Pulse is used;
- to count, across all readers, what is read and what readers find useful, so that we can improve EQSIS Pulse and decide what to explain next. These counts do not identify anyone.
Choosing stories for you is about what to read, not what to buy. It is not a recommendation on any security.
EQSIS Pulse has no link to EQSIS’s sales or course-enquiry systems, and does not send them your reading record.
D. Your internet address and browser details
Your reading record does not hold your IP address (the internet address of your connection) or your browser’s identification string. EQSIS Pulse’s own code reads that string once, to tell your type of device and to leave out automated visitors, and does not keep it. To stop abuse, EQSIS Pulse counts how many requests come from one internet address, using a coded form of the address under a key that is replaced every day. That counter does not store the address itself.
Like every page of www.eqsis.com, each request for an EQSIS Pulse page is also written to the web server’s access log, with the internet address the request came from. Depending on the server’s log settings, the log may also hold the page asked for, the time and your browser’s identification string.
E. The notice, and your choice to Decline
Recording is on by default. The first time EQSIS Pulse would start recording in your browser, it shows a short privacy notice at the foot of the page, with a link to “Privacy and preferences”. EQSIS Pulse starts sending your reading record only after you have seen the notice, including what you did on that page before you saw it. The notice counts as seen when at least half of it has been on your screen, or when you close it or use its link (on a browser that cannot tell this, as soon as it is shown). If we change the notice, it shows again. Your follows and saved stories wait for the notice too: EQSIS Pulse sends none of them before you have seen it, and one made on a page you leave before then stays in your browser only. No poll vote is stored before you have seen the notice either.
You can stop the recording at any time by choosing Decline, either under “Privacy and preferences” (linked at the foot of every EQSIS Pulse page) or on the website’s cookie notice. One Decline covers both: it stops the EQSIS Pulse reading record and the analytics and advertising tools described in “Advertising measurement and learner exclusion” above. Your browser remembers the choice. Choosing Allow under “Privacy and preferences” turns both on again.
After a Decline:
- EQSIS Pulse stops sending your reading record from this browser, and sets no new reader cookie.
- EQSIS Pulse deletes the interests it had worked out for you, its suggestion for you, and the story lists it had picked for you. If you chose Decline on the website’s cookie notice, this happens the next time you open an EQSIS Pulse page.
- New follows and saved stories stay in your browser only. Those already stored with EQSIS Pulse stay there until you ask us to erase your data.
- The reading already recorded is no longer used to choose stories or suggestions for you, or to place you in groups. The Decline does not delete it: it is kept for the time given in part I. To remove it, ask us to erase your data (part J).
- The reader cookie stays in your browser, so that you can still use “Privacy and preferences” here. While you have chosen Decline, EQSIS Pulse uses it only for the choices and requests you make on that page.
F. If you are signed in to your EQSIS account
EQSIS Pulse can tell whether you are signed in to your EQSIS account on www.eqsis.com. It reads the website’s sign-in session for this, and never changes it. When you are signed in and have not chosen Decline, EQSIS Pulse:
- links your reading record to your EQSIS account. If you sign in on more than one browser or device, their reading records are joined into one;
- keeps your EQSIS member number with your reading record, and checks about once a day whether your account is active.
If someone else signs in to a different EQSIS account on a browser already linked to your account, EQSIS Pulse keeps a separate reading record for their account, and starts a new one if they have none yet. Your reading never moves to their record or joins it, and what they read while signed in goes to their record, not yours. The browser itself stays linked to your account: what is read there while nobody is signed in, the follows, saved stories and choices made there, and the stories chosen for that browser stay with your reading record.
EQSIS Pulse does not store your name or your account’s email address, and it never writes to your EQSIS account.
G. Emails, alerts and WhatsApp messages
EQSIS Pulse does not send emails, alerts (in your browser or in the EQSIS app) or WhatsApp messages to readers yet, and does not ask for your email address or phone number to send you anything. This section will explain each of them before EQSIS Pulse offers it.
H. Searches and “Was this clear?” answers
When you search EQSIS Pulse, your reading record notes only that you searched and how many results you got. EQSIS Pulse does not keep the words you search for, or your answers to questions such as “Was this clear?” at the end of a story, and they do not reach the AI systems that help EQSIS Pulse plan what to explain.
I. Who sees your data, and how long we keep it
Within EQSIS:
- EQSIS staff who run EQSIS Pulse (administrators, and staff with view-only access to its console) see totals and groups, not individual readers’ records.
- In the EQSIS Pulse console, only the super administrator can open one reader’s record. It is shown under a coded reference, never with an email address or phone number, and each opening is recorded.
- The super administrator and administrators handle privacy requests.
- Analysts who review stories do not see reader data.
Outside EQSIS:
- EQSIS Pulse stores your data on the server that runs www.eqsis.com, which EQSIS rents from a cloud hosting company.
- The AI systems that help plan and write EQSIS Pulse may receive totals about groups of readers. They never receive your reader ID, the words you search for, or the email address or WhatsApp number you give EQSIS Pulse to receive messages.
- The analytics and advertising tools in “Advertising measurement and learner exclusion” also run on EQSIS Pulse pages unless you choose Decline, and collect page visits as that section describes. They need JavaScript: if JavaScript is switched off in your browser, EQSIS Pulse pages load none of them. EQSIS Pulse’s own scripts send them nothing.
- If you turn on Tamil in the website’s header, the text of the EQSIS Pulse page you are viewing is sent to Google to be translated, as the section “Tamil translation (Google Translate)” describes.
How long we keep it:
- Your detailed reading record: 13 months. After that, only daily totals remain, and they do not identify anyone.
- Reading that has reached our server but is not yet processed waits in files for at most two days.
- Interests fade as described in part C, and are deleted once they have faded to almost nothing.
- Your follows, saved stories and choices, the site and campaign that first sent you, the section of the first EQSIS Pulse page you opened, a summary of how often you visit, and the link to your EQSIS account: for as long as your reader record exists.
- Your reader record is deleted, with everything in it, once EQSIS Pulse has not seen you for 395 days (about 13 months) on this browser or on any other browser linked to the same record. This is the same whether or not the record is linked to your EQSIS account. A record with a privacy request still open is kept until the request is answered.
- The dated records of your privacy requests are kept for 5 years after each request is closed, and are then deleted.
- The dated records of your choices (each Allow, Decline or turning off) are kept for at least 5 years.
- These records of your requests and choices are kept even after your data is erased, as proof that we followed them. They hold no IP address or browser identification string.
- Our server keeps its nightly backups for 14 days, and a backup copy we download from the server is deleted 30 days after it is downloaded. Erased data can remain in a backup until that backup is deleted.

If you are signed in to your EQSIS account, EQSIS Pulse reads the website’s sign-in cookie to know this; it does not set or change it. EQSIS Pulse pages also carry the website’s own header and tools, which keep your settings in your browser if you change them: eqsis-a11y (display and accessibility settings), eqsis-language (language choice) and, when you turn on Tamil, the googtrans cookie that Google Translate uses. Apart from these, EQSIS Pulse sets no other cookie at present.
Clearing your browser’s data removes all of this from your browser. It does not erase what EQSIS Pulse holds on its server: for that, see part J.
J. See, correct or erase your data
Under “Privacy and preferences” you can:
- ask for a copy of what EQSIS Pulse holds about you;
- ask us to erase it;
- ask us to correct an email address or WhatsApp number you have given EQSIS Pulse. If EQSIS Pulse holds no such detail for you, what you type there is not kept.
You can also change your follows and saved stories yourself at any time. A request covers the reader ID in this browser and everything linked to it, including reading joined from other browsers through your EQSIS account. If you signed in to your EQSIS account on a browser already linked to someone else’s account, a request made there does not cover the separate record of what you read there while signed in (part F): for that, write to info@eqsis.com.
We reply within 30 days. If your reader record has no EQSIS account, email address or number linked to it, a request to erase it is carried out within minutes without further checks, and this browser’s reader cookie is removed at once. For any other request, we first check that it comes from you. We prepare the copy of your data as a file, send it through an email address or number linked to your record, and delete the file from our server after 7 days. If no email address or number is linked, write to info@eqsis.com, quote the reference you are shown, and we will reply to you there.
Erasing removes your reading record, interests, follows, saved stories, reactions, votes, choices, contact details and the link to your EQSIS account from EQSIS Pulse. It does not change your EQSIS account or your EQSIS course or research records. What stays: the dated records of your choices and of your request, for the time given in part I; daily totals that identify no one; a coded form of your reader ID for 30 days, so that reading still on its way to us is dropped; and our audit records, which name readers only by a coded reference. If you keep reading EQSIS Pulse afterwards without choosing Decline, a new reading record starts.
If you have cleared your browser’s data, or use another browser, EQSIS Pulse cannot tell which reading record was yours. If that record is linked to your EQSIS account, sign in to your account on the browser you use now, open an EQSIS Pulse page, and make your request from “Privacy and preferences” there: EQSIS Pulse joins the two records first. A record that cannot be traced to anyone is deleted after 395 days, as in part I.
K. We do not sell your data

Tamil translation (Google Translate)
The optional Tamil button in the site header uses the Google Translate service. When you switch it on, the text of the page you are viewing is sent to Google to be translated, and Google sets a functional cookie (googtrans) so your language choice follows you across pages; we also remember the choice in your browser’s local storage. Nothing is sent to Google unless you turn the feature on, and turning it off stops it. Google processes this content as an independent service provider under its own privacy policy. SEBI-mandated disclosures and legal pages remain in English, which is the authoritative version of this website.
