Standards: corrections

We aim to be accurate, and we correct mistakes openly. This page explains how. Every correction we have published is listed below, newest first.

Three kinds of change. Correction: something we published was wrong. Clarification: what we published was correct but unclear, or could be misread. Update: new facts have arrived since we published, and we have added them.

How you will see it. A corrected piece shows a note under it that says what kind of change it was, when it was made and what changed. Every published correction also appears on this page. Each change to a published piece is saved as a new version, and earlier versions are kept on record.

Who checks it. EQSIS staff write each correction note, and our automated checks test it like any other text. If the piece is analysis, an explainer, an edition or EQSIS research, an analyst approves the corrected version before it goes live.

Where corrections come from. Our own checks, the analysts who review a sample of published items, and readers.

Messages already sent. Emails, alerts and WhatsApp messages that have already gone out cannot be changed. The page they link to always shows the correction.

Tell us about an error. Write to info@eqsis.com with the link to the piece and what you think is wrong.
