EQSIS Pulse
Privacy and preferences
This page shows the choices EQSIS Pulse holds for you, and lets you change them at any time. Your choices apply to this browser and to any email address, EQSIS app or WhatsApp number you have confirmed with EQSIS Pulse. If you are signed in to your EQSIS account, they also cover the reading joined to that account from your other browsers. If someone else's EQSIS account was signed in on this browser before yours, your choices here apply to that person's reading record, not to the separate record of what you read here while signed in. You do not need an account.
EQSIS Pulse keeps only what it needs to choose stories for you and to learn what readers find useful. We do not sell your data. The eqsis.com Privacy Policy, linked at the foot of this page, also applies.
Changing these choices needs JavaScript turned on in your browser.
Reading on this device
EQSIS Pulse records your reading on this browser (the pages you open, the stories you see and tap, when you open an EQSIS course page or a learning page from EQSIS Pulse, how long and how far you read, what you follow, save and share, how you react to a story, your vote in a poll, that you searched and how many results you got but not the words, the site and any campaign that sent you, your type of device and your browser's language) to choose stories for you and to learn what readers find useful. If you are signed in to your EQSIS account, this record is joined with your reading on other browsers where you signed in to it. If someone else's EQSIS account was signed in on this browser before yours, this record stays with that person: what you read here while signed in goes to a separate record of your own, and the choices on this page apply to that person's record. Recording is on by default. You can choose Decline at any time.
If you choose Decline, EQSIS Pulse stops recording your reading on this browser at once and deletes the interests it had worked out from this browser's record. The eqsis.com analytics and advertising tools stop too: these tools do not load on the pages you open after that, and your browser remembers the choice. New follows and saved stories stay in this browser only. To stop recording on another browser, choose Decline there too. You can change your mind here at any time.

What this device keeps
On this browser, EQSIS Pulse keeps:
A reader cookie: a random ID that links your reading, follows, saved stories and choices on EQSIS Pulse. It lasts up to 400 days. It is never set while you have chosen Decline.
In this browser's storage: your Allow or Decline choice (shared with eqsis.com), whether you have seen the privacy notice and which version, a mark that the reader cookie has been set here (it holds no ID), your follows and saved stories, the time of your last visit, whether reading notes are shown, and whether your Decline has reached EQSIS Pulse. A visit record also stays in this browser and never leaves it: how many visits you have made, when the last one was, and your answer to any alerts offer. While you have chosen Decline it is not written, and an earlier one is removed.
Until you close the tab: a visit ID, replaced after 30 minutes without activity; whether you are signed in to your EQSIS account, as last checked, and while you are, a sign-in token that lasts one hour; and any suggestion EQSIS Pulse has for you.
Offline copies: the last 10 stories you opened and the page design files, so that they open without a connection.
Two more cookies are set only once EQSIS Pulse offers emails or alerts, which it does not do yet. A sign-up cookie, while you confirm an email address or the EQSIS app: it makes the confirmation work only in this browser, and it lasts 48 hours. An alerts cookie, if you turn on browser alerts: it lets this browser turn them off later, and it lasts up to 400 days.
The eqsis.com site also uses cookies for analytics and advertising measurement. The eqsis.com Privacy Policy describes them, and Decline stops them. The eqsis.com header on these pages also keeps your display and language settings in this browser if you change them, and turning on Tamil sets a cookie that Google Translate uses.
Clearing your browser's data removes all of this from this device. It does not erase what EQSIS Pulse holds about you. To erase that, use the request below.
See, correct or erase your data
You can ask for a copy of what EQSIS Pulse holds about you, ask us to correct an email address or WhatsApp number, or ask us to erase it all. A request covers this browser's reading record and anything linked to it: email addresses, WhatsApp numbers, the EQSIS app and any link to an EQSIS account. If someone else's EQSIS account was signed in on this browser before yours, a request made here does not cover the separate record of what you read here while signed in: for that, write to info@eqsis.com.
We reply within 30 days. To protect you, we first check that a linked email address or number is yours, by writing to it. We send a copy of your data, as a file, through that email address or WhatsApp number, and we delete the file from our server after 7 days. If no email address or number is linked, write to info@eqsis.com, quote the reference you are shown, and we will reply to you there.
Erasing removes your reading record, interests, follows, saved stories, choices and contact details from EQSIS Pulse. It does not close an EQSIS account or change your EQSIS course or research records. We keep the dated records of your consents and of this request, because they show what you agreed to and what we did.
Questions: write to info@eqsis.com.
We have your request. If it concerns an email address or WhatsApp number, we will first check that it is yours by writing to it, and we will reply there within 30 days. If you asked us to erase a reading record that has no EQSIS account, email address or number linked to it, we erase it without further checks, and this browser starts afresh. If you write to us about this request at info@eqsis.com, quote the reference below.
