First, a breath

You can start from zero, with the right foundations first

Most beginners feel the same two things: it looks complicated, and it feels risky. Both are fair. The fix isn’t a shortcut. It’s learning in the right order, with someone experienced beside you. That’s exactly how we teach.

No experience needed

We assume you’re starting fresh. Every concept is built up from plain language and everyday examples, so nothing is taken for granted.

No demat account to begin

You don’t need a demat or trading account to start learning. You understand the concepts first; when you’re ready, we guide you on opening and using an account confidently.

Guided, not left alone

You learn with individual assistance from SEBI-registered analysts, in small batches, in English or Tamil, so every doubt gets answered as it comes up.

The beginner’s start map

What to learn first, and in what order

The order matters more than most people realise. Charts come later. What protects you comes first. Here’s the sequence we teach every beginner.

How the market actually works

Shares, exchanges, orders, what moves a price. The plain-English foundation so nothing later feels like a foreign language.

Your own psychology

Fear, greed and impatience cost beginners more than bad charts do. You learn to notice and manage them before real money is involved.

Risk management

How much to put at stake, and how to limit a mistake. This is the discipline that keeps you in the game long enough to improve.

Reading charts & analysis

Only now do charts and indicators make sense, because you know what you’re looking for and why it matters.

Practising by doing

You apply each idea on live markets under guidance, watching how experienced analysts think, not just taking notes.

Choosing your path

With the basics in place, you decide: learn to trade actively, or learn to invest for the long term. The next section helps you choose.

Which way are you drawn?

Are you leaning towards trading, or investing?

There’s no wrong answer here. It’s about what fits your goals and your time. Trading suits people who can follow the market actively and enjoy learning short-term skills. Investing suits people who prefer a slower, long-term approach that fits around a full-time job.

Not sure yet? That’s completely normal at this stage. Our fork walks you through the difference in plain language and points you to the right course, with no commitment needed.

Beginner questions, answered

The things people ask before they start

Straight answers to the doubts almost every beginner has.

Do I need any prior knowledge to start?

No. Our beginner path is built for people starting from zero: salaried professionals, students, homemakers and retirees. We begin with plain-language basics, mindset and risk before touching charts, so you’re never lost.

Do I need a demat or trading account first?

No. You don’t need a demat or trading account to begin learning. You understand the concepts and practise first; when you’re ready, your trainer guides you on opening and operating an account confidently.

Should I learn trading or investing first?

It depends on your goal and how much time you can give the market. Trading suits active learners; investing suits a slower, long-term approach. Our fork helps you pick before you commit.

What should I learn first in the stock market?

Start with how the market works, then psychology and risk management, which is how you learn to protect your capital. Only then move to charts, analysis and execution. Learning in this order is what separates disciplined participants from gamblers.

Is the training online or in Chennai?

Both. Courses run live online for learners anywhere, and in classroom at our two Chennai centres (Kodambakkam and Guindy), in English and Tamil, with weekday and weekend batches.

How does EQSIS support a complete beginner?

You learn with individual assistance in small batches from SEBI-registered analysts, practise by doing, and have support during and after your training until the concepts truly click. Prefer to read first? Start with our beginner guides.
