    A company ready to share the profit to public in return expects some contribution from the public.This happens thro primary markets.The first time when a company asks capital from public it is called IPO or initial public offer.

    The process for applying for IPO is normally the company advertises and people send DDs assking for shares but now all this process has gone online.

    Initial Public Offer is where company offers its shares to public. You can apply the same though a book bidding process. You can be easily bid in your demat account.

    If a company collect its capital from public as a first time is called Initial Public Offer.

    To apply for IPO, the company should submit its profiles and proper documents to the SEBI(Securities  and Exchange Board of India)
