What is the difference between Investments and trading?

Trading, on the other hand, involves the more frequent buying and selling of stock, with the goal of generating returns through buy-and-hold investing

Investment is if you are buying a stock after doing proper fundamental research on the company( profits, debt and growth potential )

If we are buying the stock based on the charts, then it is called trading.

investments demands less activity and also it takes long  periods for closing our positions . but trading is done with lesser period of time frame . It can be intraday , swing or positional also .
