NIFTY & SENSEX are market indices. Buying or Selling shares of a market index is not possible, but Futures & options can be used to trade NIFTY and not SENSEX.

No, one cannot trade Nifty /Sensex as they are just the averages of the top 50 and 30 companies registered with NSE and BSE respectively.

Spot Trading is not possible as its not a share / asset.

However, Futures & options tradings are possible based on the index value of Nifty & Sensex

yes we can trade nifty and sensex. But we cannot own the asset.
