GAP are named based on the area they appear i.e trending and non-trending area.
Four Types
– Area GAP (non-trending area)
– Breakout GAP (trending area)
– Runaway GAP (trending area)

example yesterday’s price was opened at RS10- closed at RS20
today’s price is opened at RS30- closes atRs40.thus the price between 10 to 40 is gap

Area gap: Gap occurs in the trading range
breakout: Gap that occurs during breakout.
Runaway: Gap that occurs when the sellers are forced to buy back.
Exhaustion: Gap occurred during the opening got closed during the same day.
GAP is named depending on where the gap is formed.
