NSE is more transparent, and has more stringent criteria to select companies to list in their index. It introduced online trading, futures and options, and also derivative trading.
BSE doesn’t have the future and options. MAC which has this futures lets the people to trade even with less amount. That’s what make the nsc more popular than bsc
NSE introduced future and options to their customers where BSE failed to do so. NSE’s diversification made them more popular than BSE

NSE is the first to introduce derivatives in stock trading. This motivates lots of traders to trade in NSE over BSE. Even though
BSE now introduces the derivative segment the volume & Liquidity is lot higher in NSE over BSE.
