NSE is popular than BSE because it is the first exchange to provide online trading option,

Also it introduced futures and options.

As we look at the name, it is quite clear that the NATIONAL stock exchange is more popular than the BOMBAY stock exchange. National stock exchange has more stocks listed than BSE, and also has more options of varied derivative market.
