Stock market is just like another market where shares are traded with each other for money. Its also a place where buyers and sellers meet to trade/transfer their shares with each other in the hope to make profit

Primary markets are for IPO where shares issued by the company for the first time to the public. Once the shares are bought they cannot be retuned back to the company (for refund) and hence they need a secondary market where the shares can be traded for money with other traders.

investments are shares bought for medium to long term in return for a profit, where as trading is for a shorter time frame usually less than a day to take advantage of price fluctuations to make profit
