The Sensex and NIFTY are indices of Stock Market

Sensex is for  BSE(Bombay Stock Exchange)

NIFTY is for  NSE(National Stock Exchange)

Indices is a plural of Index – An index is basically an indicator with gives us an general idea about  stocks going up or down ..

SENSEX and NIFTY are nothing but index. Index of top 30 companies in BSE is called as SENSEX. Index of top  50 companies in NSE is called as NIFTY.
