In intraday trading any position (long/short) is squared off on the same day . No overnight risk here. In positional trading positions(long/short) are open for a comparatively longer duration of time which may be from few days to few monthes.Overnight risk is always here.

Orders are placed through a broker .Orders are of two types-buy order and sell order which can be placed as limit order/market order/stop loss order.Orders are valid till the market closes on that day.

What position to take (long/short) in which stock for how much quantity taking into consideration expected risk and expected return is trade plan .It is essential so that stock trading becomes a business transaction rather than a gambling transaction.

No shareholder has no right to ask for refund & can only sell the shares in the secondary market.
