The time required for trading will be minimal and depends on the type of order getting placed.  Example, if it is Market Order, it gets executed immediately at the market Price. The execution of Limit and Stop Loss orders depends on the mentioned Price and Market Situation.

Trading is only the action but analysis needs to be completed and trading plan should be available before trading. This would require considerable amount of time for the market study(in case of technical analysis) and to derive the plan.

trading requires time only to set the buy and sell orders, however the actual time involved is in doing analysis and understanding which stock to buy and what should be the buy and sell price.

The time required to do trade can vary from a day to years. It all depends on the investor who decides to buy/sell. Before deciding they may take time to do analysis, get experts advice. Overall process may take some time depending on the investor but the time taken to place a buy/sell order is only a few minutes when everything else is decided.
