Share holder doesnt have any right to refund the amount which he had contributed. In order to get money from stock he invested, he has to sell it in the share market. and it is the company’s decision to give dividend for the year or not. Because the power of decision making is with the management and not with stock investors or stock holders.

A shareholder cannot ask for dividends of the company. The company chooses to either retain or distribute its profits.
However, a shareholder may liquidate his financial assets by selling in the stock market.

Share holder can’t ask for a refund from company as the fund is already invested by the company ,instead he/she can sell their shares back in secondary market(Stock Market) as per the current price.

Decision on Dividends are taken by the company’s board members based on growth, Share holder doesn’t have rights to ask for Dividends.
