    A shareholder is a person / company / institution who owns atleast a share of a company`s stock.

    Promotor is a generic term associated with the person who  starts a business.This person is also referred to as the founder of the business.

    A director is a person who leads / supervises the companys affairs.

    Any normal person who owns a share is called a share holder

    promoter works on behalf of the company in various functions

    director is the one who works for the company and he/she instructs in all matters

    Share Holder – Anyone who owns share either through initial investment, IPO or secondary market, etc.

    Promoter – A single person or a group of persons who started the business with his or their capital and promoted the company.

    Director – Person who manages day to day activities of the company chosen by the share holders.
