Share holders are the owners of company shares, they have rights to caste vote in general body meeting.

Promoters are the one who promotes the idea of the company,they need not be the owner of the company but they might have some shares of the company. If required they can sell their shares and move out completely from the company.

Directors are the one who manages/runs the business. They takes care of the day to day affairs of the company and has the power to delegate the authority and responsibilities among the employees.
