IPO means initial public offer.  a company  will  advertise an IPO when it needs huge capital. this offer is done through newspapers and media. The public can apply for shares by filling in the application form and remitting the money towards the number of shares they want to purchase. This can be done through physical application or through online. On accepting our application, the company will issue shares certificates. In case the IPO is oversubscribed, and we are not alloted shares, the company  will refund the money to us.
