Trading on equity within a day is called Intraday trading.  We need to be quick in identifying stocks for participating in intraday trade.  Mostly market sentiment drives the intra day trade and hence, there is not much time available to analyze the stock in detail.  Candlestick patterns can be used to some extent.

Positional analysis : Positional trading refers to weekly / monthly trading.  There is a lot of time left to monitor the price movements.

Therefore, it can be concluded, Sentiment drives Intra day trading and quick analysis is required,

sufficient time is available to make a detailed analysis about the stock in positional trading.

Intraday analysis is the analysis where trading takes place on same day and settlements happen on same day.

Positional analysis is the analysis where trading ttakes more than a day and settlement happens at the end of the trade.

Intraday analysis is analysis of a stock for a day. (generally for few hours)
It is different from positional analysis as there is no use of any chart and its patterns or any gap analysis.
It is mostly influenced by market sentiments
