in primary market IPOs are issued to the investors by the companies . but in the secondary market actual share trading is taken place , in this lot of companies are listed  through stock exchanges . Traders buy and sell their shares , futures , options , commodities . In primary market trading is not taken place also Futures n options , commodities do not hold any relevancy here .

Primary Market is the place where the first issue of stocks (i.e., Initial Public Offer) takes place. It is the place where investors buy shares directly from the company (usually in large quantities).

Secondary Market is the place where the trading of stocks (among public, retailers etc…) takes place. Any stock trade after IPO takes place in the Secondary Market.

In the Primary market, investors buy shares directly from the company.

The place where formerly issued shares are traded is known as secondary market.
