Primary market is where retail investors can purchase shares from the company directly. This is also called IPO (Initial public offering). While the secondary market is where retail buyers can contact each other and trade shares. The stock market is a secondary market. The company is not involved in the secondary market at all.

the primary market is where the company asks for money for the first time by IPO and secondary market is where people trade their certificate whenever they want to liquidate the money they invested and the certificate.
