What is the difference between Investments and trading?

A person who buy shares intentionally to hold it for a longer period of time(more than 3 years) is investment

The one who buy shares and tend to sell or viceversa in a day(intraday) or within one week or month is known as trading.

Investments are made to gain long/short term returns on the principle amount, whereas trading is basically buying and selling of stocks which may not guarantee a definite gain. It may also incur loss in share market.
