What is the difference between Investments and trading?

Investments are long term and Trading is short term activity.

Investment  is to allocate money in the expectation of some benefit in the future. where as trading is active participation in market and making money with price movement.

Investment is buying the shares of the company for a longer duration of time ( vary from months to years )

Trading is Buying and selling of shares within  a short span of time ( within a day or a couple of days )

Trading is when you buy or sell a share from the trading market with proper analysis in order to gain returns within a particular period of time.
