NSE adopted more recent technologies faster. It also made possible trading in futures and options earlier than BSE. Fraud and transparency protections are considered to be far better in NSE

Shareholders have the right to ask for dividend. But the ultimate decision to grant dividend rests with the Board.
However, the shareholders cannot ask for refund. It is upto the decision of the Board.

Promoters are those who take active steps in formation of the Company. They originally own shares in the Company but it may be transferred at any point of time.

Equity market can be classified into Primary and Secondary Market . The other markets are Derivative Market which includes Futures Market and Options Market. Other than these there is also commodity markets and currency market.

Demat A/c is an account which holds all shares in dematerialised form. Shares are held in electronic form instead of physical possession of share certificates. It is a convenient mode of holding/ storing the shares and this facility is provided by the depository participants. In India it is either NSDL / CDSL.
