Stock Market – Terms and Basics

Stock market is where stocks are traded on a day to day basis. A stock is issued by a company only after they turn public by issuing an initial public offer. IF the shares are directly bought from company it is a primary market and if it is traded from a primary seller/buyer, it becomes secondary. In order to trade on stocks, one has to register with SEBI with a demat account and also with a registered stock broker.
