Charles Dow, who is referred to as “Father of Technical Analysis” has made immense contributions to the field of Technical Analysis. One of the important contributions includes the DOW THEORY. The Dow theory was developed to analyze the movement of indices and was based on the ‘closing’ price of the indices. It did not use other variables such as ‘open’, ‘high’ or ‘low’.
