stock market is basically formed for companies to raise capital from the public through ipo from the primary market and then selling and buying of shares of a particular company happens through secondary market.stock exchanges such as nse and bse helps with that. sebi checks the transparency of the dealings.

    Hi,
    Answering to your question 1 :: what is face value?
    Face value is just a denomination of share certificate. This does not have a much importance.

    Answering to your question 2 :: how did nse became better than bse?
    when people used to trade in bse there will be only option to buy and sell stocks. But nse introduced varieties in trading i.e. futures and options. so people moved to nse from bse and thus nse become popular.
