A company is an entity which has a business model to be implemented/executed which could gain profits over time. Promoter brings up the company from base and may or may not be an owner always. Director, elected by share holders, who may or may not be an owner of the company is responsible for the operations of the company. Equity share/stock represent the ownership over a Company. This can be acquired in Primary market via IPO or bought in secondary market from a seller. Company may share the profit among share holders in form of dividend. The Indian stock market performance can be seen via indexes namely NIFTY & SENSEX. 50 top performing companies from NSE contributes to NIFTY and 30 top performing companies from BSE contributes to SENSEX.
