Stock analysis is a process followed by traders to evaluate and understand the value of a security or the stock market.
Stock analysis follows the idea that analysts can create methodologies to select stocks by studying past and present data.
Fundamental analysis and technical analysis are two broad types of stock analysis.
Technical analysis, or using charts to identify trading signals and price patterns, may seem overwhelming or esoteric at first.
Two different ways to approach technical analysis: the top-down approach and the bottom-up approach. Often, short-term traders will take a top-down approach and long-term investors will take a bottom-up approach.
