Why do we need to close the intraday position on the same day? Is it mandate?
yes,it is mandatory to close intraday short position because intraday happens in spot market where only margin is used to buy/sell or sell/buy stocks. Penalty will be charged if the intraday short positions is not closed. But in intraday long position with the sufficient fund to convert the intraday long position into delivery then there is no mandatory.If there is insufficient fund then it is mandatory to close the intraday long position
