Positional analytical methods are only meant for long term investors. They buy and hold the stocks for long time.

But, in Intraday, trader often closes out all the trades before the market closes in the evening. It works along with

    market sentiments.

in positional analytical methods  the stock is selected & using the chart of the particular  stock  the analysis is done using demand and supply and the price movement or trend of the stock to check whether the stock can be traded or not.

but in intraday analysis only the particular day’s trend is taken into account i.e. market centiment,FII activity, market breadth etcc.. and the analysis is valid for the particular day.

comparitively  parameters  used in positional analysis is not used for intraday analysis. so considering these factors positional analytical methods are not followed  in intraday analysis.

Positional analysis Select stocks after studying the price patterns and using various indicators/oscillators to find a good entry /exit point ,but intra-day trader checks the market sentiments /trend/meter/sector contribution on day to day basis to buy /sell.

Intra day trader hold onto their positions from few minutes to few hours, but in the case of positional trader it will be from few weeks to few months.
