In order to buy and sell we need a market. There should be a common place for retailers to look for listed stocks, to invest, to buy and sell. Hence the need for an organised stock market.
Needs: Stock market:
In order to buy Shares or to sell them, we need a basic platform where the buyers and sellers meet.
Stock market acts as a bridge or interface between the buyers and sellers in-order to exchange their trades(stocks) in various methods.
We need stock market to buy or sell whatever shares we have.there is no need to company to buyback or sell its shares directely.
All needy persons go to stock market to get good prices for their shares.
Stock market is an approved common place where the shares are traded (buying and selling). It is where the potential buyers meet the potential sellers and the exact value of demand and supply of shares of the company are known and there by the market price of the shares are decided.
Stock market is the place in which the buyers and sellers of a financial product can meet each other for investment decisions without having the counter party risk. Since the stock market is being controlled by organised SEBI rules, the investors (buyers & sellers) can make an investment decision with very minimal counter party risks.
