Long and Short are positions which basically mean Buying & Selling of Shares.

Longwinding is selling the shares to close the long position

Short Covering is buying the shares to cover short position

long = buying the stock and holding on to it and selling it when the prices go high.

Short =  without processing the shares if you sell them, it is called a short position.

long unwinding = when you sell the shares you were holding  and closing that trade.

Short covering= when you buy back the shares you sold, before 330 pm, that day ie before the market closed for that day, it is called a short covering.

    Long & Long Unwinding

While the price of the share goes high, we <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>buy (Long)</span> and then <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>sell (Long Unwinding)</span>.

    Short & Short Covering

While the price of the share goes low, we <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>sell (Short)</span> and then <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>buy (Short Covering)</span>
