    these companies are offering shares for the first time. you can buy the shares by applying through trading account. earliest date to apply is after issue date and before closing date. shares are allocated after closing date and will be informed to you. now a days there is huge response for the IPOs and therefore most of the time oversubscribed, in which case you may not get all the applied shares. amount will be initially blocked and will be deducted once allocation is complete.

    Intial Public Offering is a primary market, where the shares of a company are sold for the first time. IPO will be filed by a company that requires huge capital for expanding its business. IPO will be usually handled by Investment banking firms, by complying with norms of SEBI.
