    A gap in a chart is essentially an empty space between one trading period and the previous trading period.

    types :

    1. Area Gap or Consolidation

    2. Break out GAP

    3. Runaway GAP

    4. Exhaustion GAP

    A gap is an area on a price chart in which there were no trades. Normally this occurs between the close of the market on one day and the next day’s open.
