What is the difference between Investments and trading?

Investments refer to long term and trading refers to short term of buying and selling shares.

Investment is a process of allocating money and time on any material with an expectation for value appreciation or value generation or both which can be availed in future in the form of money.

Trading is an act of exchanging the money for material and vise versa between a supplier and a receiver, to realize the benefit of  marginal difference between selling and buying cost.
