What is the difference between Investments and trading?

IN investment there is no practically no risk involved and the investor is assured of the % of return at the time of investment Even if there is any risk the investor is already aware of it like company deposits having the rank C or D Ex of investment Deposits in POST OFFICE ,PSU BANKS .COMPANY DEPOSITS with AAA rank
TRADING means there is considerable risk involved to achieve the reward/profit. EVEN then the profit is not guaranteed
EX any business including stock market(purchase and sale of shares)

For Investments, the shares are to be purchased at Market price / limit price and held before selling later. Its entirely the investor’s decision to buy / sell. No time restriction. Decision is primarily based on fundamental analysis of the company.

Trading- You need not necessarily buy the entire quantity of shares, but enter a contract with the buyer / seller. You can determine the movement based on price & volume traded every day and decide to trade on a stock. (derivative). There is a validity for the purchased contract.

Investments is long term, buying the shares and keeping them for long term to yield profit

Trading is short term, buying and selling of shares on daily or weekly basis to yield profit

Trading- we buy and sell the shares in a short period of time.
