A stock market is a place where one can buy and sell the share.
There are two exchanges: BSE & NSE.
The basic job of exchange is to do order matching.
Index (SENSEX & NIFTY)indicates cumulative movement where it is easy to track the benchmark.
SENSEX consists of 30 best companies listed in BSE whereas Nifty consiste of 50 large companies stocks from 11 sector.
SEBI regulates the stock market.
CDSL & NSDL are public sector unit where your shares are saved.
Two types of market:
Primary market is the place where first time the stock of a private company is offered to the public through public issue IPO.
Secondary market is the place where the actual trading i.e buying and selling of a share takes place.
