    Hi Kishore Sir, Nice post.

SENSEX – Is the index of top 30 listed companies in BSE and not in India.

NIFTY -Is the index of top 50 listed companies in NSE and not in India.

Hello sir, Thank you for your reply.

The companies mentioned in NSE and BSE are Indian companies. Those companies are in India. Right?

(Sorry, Correct me if i’m wrong. Looking for your reply sir.)

Yes Kishore sir. what you are telling is correct, only Indian companies can be listed in NSE and BSE.

But not all the listed Indian companies are available in both the markets. Some listed in NSE may not be listed in BSE and vice versa.

So, SENSEX is the index used to represent the top 30 companies listed in BSE. These 30 companies may be or may not be listed in NSE. And at the same time these 30 companies need not be top 30 companies of India.

In case of NIFTY it top 50 of NSE listed companies.

I think in my previous message I didn’t make my point clear. Sorry for that. 🙂
