T.PONNARASU replied to the topic What is intraday analysis? How it is different from positional analysis in the forum Intraday Analysis for Day Traders 7 years, 10 months ago
Intraday analysis follows top to down approach to identify the stocks with high momentum in price & volume based on which a position can be taken to take advantage of the price momentum and exit in the same day with small profit. Where as in positional analysis the stocks need to be held overnight for few days to months.

Positional analytical method will help us to take long or short position based on expected price movement in near future whereas the positions taken in intraday needs to be squared off on the same day before the market closes.
