It is mandatory only in case of a short position and it’s not otherwise. But the analysis we use for intraday trading is different from that of positional trading in which case it’s not smart move to hold the stock for more than one day.

The Bull Body Should Cover At Least 50% of Previous Day
The Upper Tail Should Not be Very Big, Volume may Increase At the Piercing Day
Create Long Position When Price crosses the Higher of Last Two Days
