cup patterns are very powerful if it takes long time to construct with low volume.

when it breaks with high volume the bullish trend occurs.

Cup pattern is an accumulation pattern and generally takes long duration to form. The volume should be as low as possible during the round bottom and correlation of the stock with the market should also be low. Long position can be created when the cup starts filling up.
