Moving Average is an trending indicator.

If the price is above the average it is Bullish trend.

If the price is below the average it is Bearish trend

Moving average is nothing but the average value of closing price of stock for defined period. Moving average will be useful in raising or falling price trend. It will not useful in sideways movement.
