    Demat a/c is De materialized account. Buying and selling of shares through Online is reflected in Demat a/c.

    • DMAT a/c is the repository of the share documents  in de-materialized form.
    • Each account is identified with a unique number.
    • One may hold more than one DMAT account.
    • NSDL & CDSL are the two comnpanies providing DMAT services for equities in India.

    A DEMAT a/c is the place where the purchased shares  (share certificates) are stored in electronic format. Share holders can buy /sell shares using the demat account.

    DEMATa/c is the dematerialistic form of holding the share a/c Formerly the share certificate of a firm denotes the number of shares in the name of the person NOWADAYS the certificate is replaced by demat A/C in which any number of shares of any number of company can be stored HENCE it is mandatory to have both demat a/c and trading a/c in order to be a share holder

    DEMAT A/c is an online account which is mandatory for share trades. It provides the information about trading done by a person and which keeps the data.
    NSDL & CDSL are the two companies providing DEMAT Account.
