Every person who holds shares of a company are the shareholders or the owners of the company. Now, these shareholders are not allowed to exit directly from the company, instead these holders go to a platform to sell their shares to those people who are ready to buy. This platform where buyers and sellers trade shares or other instruments of a company is called Stock Market. It can also be called Secondary Market; Stock Exchange; Capital Market.

    Hi Arun,

Stock market is a place where all the shares of the company are centrally traded.  It provides transparency in the price and it has a separate identity.
