Stock market is a platform to connect stock buyers and sellers with different investment styles like long-term(Investor) and short-term(Trader). There are primarily 2 main stock exchanges in the country NSE and BSE which is regulated by SEBI. Depositories(CDSL/NDSL) help in converting shares into electronic form. The stocks are introduced into the primary market as a means of companies to raise capital from public via IPO for a face value. This is facilitated by the investment bank for the company. Once the stocks are listed in the secondary market, it can be traded/exchanged/bought/sold. A stock has higher liquidity than any other asset. There are primarily 2 indices which show the market sentiment of our country – Sensex and Nifty. It is nothing but just a weighted average of stock price movements of a few highly valued companies.
