Stock Market Basics

Stock market is the place where the stocks or shares of a company gets traded. It is a Secondary market as the ownership can be transferred from person to person. When we buy a share of a company we gets the ownership of the company. Stock exchanges are the places where trading happens. Our trading always happens through a broker. Broker is the middle person who manages our order and ensures the settlement of our order from exchange. We need Demat account to do the trading. And various terms we learn in this are Promoter, director, long,short, face value, share price, dividend, IPO, sensex, nifty etc.
