Stock Market is a place where stock/share is traded. Buying and selling of shares take place. Stock Market is required for the companies to raise funds from the public. The general public can take part in the ownership of the company by buying shares in the stock market through IPO or secondary buying. The Stocks are traded on NSE or BSE. He can buy or sell shares through the Demat account opened with the broker. A shareholder does not have the right to ask for a refund or dividend. However, he has the right to sell his shares when he wants to. Shares are allocated with a face value. The company can issue dividend, bonus or can split the shares on approval from the board of directors.
SENSEX is the stock market index for BSE Limited, while Nifty is the stock market index for the National Stock Exchange (NSE). SENSEX is comprised of 30 stocks, while Nifty is comprised of 50 stock. The average of these stocks reflects in the index.
NSE is more popular due to the advantages it possesses.
