GAPS are formed on a new Day after Closure of previous Day, and overnight due to some news, like : Quarterly Report very much positive and more than expected.
Then a large mass of Buyers book their buy’s pre- Opening causing a jump and a GAP in the Price charts. The converse of it on down trend for any Bad news etc..
